Annual META conference is targeted at English teachers and is aimed at helping them to polish their teaching skills, learn about recent methodologies, available resources, exchange ideas and build new connections.
META is a non-government, non-profit Professional Association of English Language Teachers which was created in 2013 by a group of enthusiastic teachers. META is affiliated and collaborates with many Associations around the world – IATEFL, TESOL, ATECR, ELTA Urals – Russia, etc. Besides the international partners, META collaborates and works with many local educational institutions around the country. Workshops
80 min
A carefully structured hands-on professional development activity which involves maximum audience participation, lasts for 80 minutes. Handouts are expected to be shared and audio-visual aids are encouraged to be used.
Demo-Lessons
40 min
An interactive lesson that was a hit among the students. It includes tasks, worksheets, projects, methods/techniques of work, evaluation stages, detailed lesson plan. (based on speaker's own experience)
Research Presentations
20 min
Research - Oriented presentation is focused on presenting the results of research done by the speaker in the ELT field, outlining helpful tips for practicing teachers and opens the floor for discussion to the audience.
TED-Format Talks
20 min
Discussion that presents your views on a topic with relation to your work and /or theory. There will be from 2 to 5 speakers in each round. Every speaker will have a chance to share his/her ideas and lifehacks that will inspire the teachers and give them extra food for thought. TED-format ideas are worth spreading!
Angela Cara
holds a PhD degree in Education. She is a Curriculum Coordinator at Heritage International School.
Angela has experience in designing, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Education Policies and Programmes, participating as a coordinator of research projects within the Institute of Education Sciences and as a member of the doctoral school within Ion Creangă Pedagogical State University.
She has provided consultancy on various issues related to education policies, curriculum development, teacher education, participating as an independent expert, coordinator of the expert’s team supported by UNICEF, World Bank, Social Investment Fund.
The results obtained in the researches were published in 187 publications: monographs, policy briefs, evaluation reports, School Curriculum, Modules for Teacher Training; presented at national and international conferences, as examples of good practices for countries in the region.
